Welcome to the 2008 Robert Osborne’s Classic Film Festival.  The University of Georgia and the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication are honored to host this event.  This event is one of the highlights of our year and we are glad that you have come to Athens for the festival.

The Grady College has a proud tradition as one of the oldest such programs in the country.  Comprised of three academic departments – journalism, advertising and public relations, and telecommunications – Grady is one of the top journalism and mass communication colleges in the country.  The members of the faculty are widely recognized for their expertise and teaching, and the students are bright, dedicated and idealistic.

Nate Kohn, festival director and a Grady College professor, and his staff do a wonderful job of planning and managing the festival.  We are also indebted to the members of the festival advisory board.  Perhaps most of all, we are grateful to Robert Osborne for allowing UGA and the Grady College to host the festival.

While you are here, please find time to visit UGA, which is one of America’s truly great campuses.  Enjoy the festival!
